My new animated desktop + Tutorial.

Yesterday I stared at my old and crappy looking desktop, and decided I needed a change, I've been experimenting ever since, and have finally found something I actually like.

Here's the result, please watch in 720P, and if you could, give me some feedback, I would appreciate it very much.

- 1. Go here if you have Windows 7.
Windows Vista already has this feature - Dreamscene.

- 2. The animated background (.wmv).

- 3. The icons.

- 4. Remove arrows from your shortcuts.

- 5. Make your icons bigger/smaller.

The text of your icons is transparent? I know a way to fix that.

- 1. Right click your desktop.
- 2. Click ''Personalize''.
- 3. Go to the ''Desktop Background'' tab below of the personalization window.
- 4. Click on ''Tile'', and change it to ''Fill''.
- 5. Click ''Ok''.
- 6. If the background has stopped, just set it as background again.

Good luck, and enjoy!

Nope, it does not eat any of my resources at all.

I checked with regular settings, and no changes in performance at all.
And I'm on a weak 2ghz processor.

I tried playing both Dragon Age: 2, and MW2, using Photoshop CS5, and Visual Studio 2010, and its the same with a regular desktop ;).

Either way, my friend who has a real crappy notebook used this, and its still running everything normal.

That looks nice ;).

You should change the theme, the icons on your task bar, and your windows start orb.

How would I go by doing so?

You can get themes from here.
http://browse.deviantart.com/customization/skins/

Then, you would need to patch your uxtheme.dll,
Go here to get the patcher - http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/UXTheme-MultiPatcher.shtml

Then to get the start-orb go here.
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/14385/change-the-windows-7-start-orb-the-easy-way/

Good luck!

That is very slick.
Great job!

Got to love the HTC clock!

Where'd you get it?
I used it once, but can't find it anymore.

Never mind, found it already.

I have the same processor as you, there is NO way you could be running Photoshop and a game at the same time with no problems. I have Photoshop and Chrome running, and Chrome's scrolling is lagging.

Beats me to it, if you want I'll make a video today when I'm back from school

I can open up 20 Chrome windows, and it still lets me browse around without problems.

Lol idiots in this thread make me laugh. Ain't all about the processor boys. Post your actual specs.
I know that, but the GPU doesn't really play a very big role in this, thats why.
Memory isn't playing any big role either.

What else would be playing a role :S?
