Yeah, it does sound serious - at least it proves that JaGeX has been up to some shady stuff. I'm sorry, I don't actually have a direct link to the post - it's on RSCA though.

Ah, an interesting read; I had a feeling there'd be loopholes within their allegations somehow :3
Thanks for this.

Ya most people figured they couldn't have gotten these paypals legally

Impsoft's case is based upon JaGex using information obtained from paypal to "destroy" their business. JaGex can file much harder charges on Impsoft for developing third party software to destroy their game, much less things they put on forums etc...This is going to be a much more intense lawsuit then people are thinking.

Their demands are a fucking joke.

Jagex has alot more money than Impsoft, hence their lawyers will be better. Jagex's lawyers wouldn't have let them make such a rookie mistake. I will guarantee they found a loophole or Impsoft is just bullshitting.

Jagex lawyers shouldn't have messed in US law as it is completely different, im on ImpSoft's side for this UK lawyers will know uk law best and vice verca.

If Jagex knows they are dealing with US law, then wouldn't you think with all their money they would get lawyers that advanced in both US and UK law?

"Either way lawyers in the respective country will know more about each laws, no matter what."

Can I see a link to the site where you got this?

I feel Jagex's lawyers know what they are doing much more then Impsoft's think they do. They would have U.S. if their case is based there, not UK lawyers. Much less Impsoft will do something such as releasing information to the public it which they are not suppose to, therefore making it falsification. My bets are on JaGex.

my bets on impsoft i don't care how money you have money shouldn't get you to be above the law

Money gets you everything, it always has.
Nothing says JaGex is playing above the law, Impsoft claims that, nothing is proven until it is decided in court.
Impsoft plays "above the law" much more then JaGex.

What Jagex wants to do with the information they got from paypal is irrelevant, if they obtained the information illegally it will be thrown out.

The fact that Jagex knowingly circumvented a protective order means they have lost the case.
They don't have a leg to stand on.

Every single player who's privacy was breached could file a mass lawsuit against Jagex and they would have no choice but to comply with the requests.

The only real big case they could argue is that their business is being ruined because of it, damages. That is a valid reason to sue, however, based on the fact that RSB is built to destroy another business makes all their claims frivolous and void.

It's basically like Al Qaeda suing homeland security for interfering with his business, it's a valid reason to sue but not if you're business is focused on destroying their business.

They could probably get jagex for privacy violation or something minor.

The fact that they have challenged Impsoft twice and lost both lawsuits means they do not know US law, or have overlooked it.

This.
They have tried twice and failed twice. This third case is pretty much the same as the first two.

No, this is totally different case. This has to do with privacy violation with the emails.
