I read the title of this thread again "Yeah... fuck guns", but guns don't kill people, people kill people, right? Guns are just a tool to help them (but maybe you wanted to say something else with the title?)

You are looking at the article wrong.
It is about a kid killing people, which is a horrible thing. Something is obviously messed up with him. What he did to kill them or what he used to kill them is irrelevant. The outcome is the same and is bad.

I don't know how this would be translated but, in spanish you can call a knife a "arma blanca", "arma" being gun/weapon and "blanca" meaning white (literal translation), a knife can be considered a gun too. Search in Google images for "armas blancas" (plural for arma blanca) and you'll see a ton of knives and a few more things.

He used a gun because it was available. If there was no gun he would have stabbed them to death. If there was no knife he would have beaten them/suffocated them to death. If he was weaker than them he would have burnt the house down.
Moral of the story: He would have killed them either way

Effort required to kill with gun = 0. Effort required to kill with knife = 5/10. Effort to kill by beating 10/10. Effort to kill by house fire = not really easy. They could of easily escaped.
You can defend against a knife attack, especially if it is 2 vs 1. You can very easily defend against a person using no weapon. You cannot defend against a gun.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't say science is wrong in the Bible. I can hate parts of science obviously. I'm not a big fan of Anthrax. It doesn't mean I hate science as a whole. I hate religion as a whole.

It's obviously possible. He goes and stabs his sister while she is sleeping. She feels the pain and starts screaming. The mother hears this and gets up and goes to see what happens. The mother and son are in hand to hand combat. The mother is a martial arts instructor and therefore wins. Now only 1 death has occurred.
