Xbox Customizing Adventures!

Pretty much just going to use this thread to record all the progress I go through. So, don't bother posting seeing as this isn't a very interesting topic.

The Concept! Alpha stages (3/6/2011)

Well, first off this whole plan will be to create a custom case for my xbox 360 arcade edition. The cases theme will be My Little Pony: Rarity.

Here is a picture of the model I'll be working with.

Now on to the bits of details I'll be working with. These decisions are not final and will most likely be changed constantly, this is just a rough draft.

If you stand the console up, power button and disk drive facing yourself, this image will be stenciled into the side of the left part of the consoles shell.

As for the right half, I will cut out plexi-glass stencils of this image and install blue LEDs to add a nice tint to the cutie mark.

Shopping List:

5-10 5mm blue LEDs
~2 resistors (no clue how many ohms yet)
a bit of wire
Xacto Blade
plexiglass
Royal Purple Acrylic paint (maybe, idk)
Whatever eye color paint Rarity's eye colour is
Soldering gun thingy

Before going out I will try to finalize everything before deciding to purchase everything so I don't waste my time and money.​

Damn I probably do, didn't think of that. Know which size I should get? I think thats what they refer to the coarseness of sand paper.

I have a sander somewhere too, so not much has to be done except pick up some paper.

I'm not too sure what grade you will need as I haven't really tried to repaint a Xbox case.
Try searching around what others have used.

Don't have another xbox case lying around. I don't think you'd buy a product that I have nearly no experience or even a steady concept map of.

But, if it all turns out great I'll definitely make one for you, providing you supply the case.

If I work / mess around with consoles that don't have any value to me, I won't feel as bad if I screw something up. Most of them were purchased for $20 off of craigslist.
