Windows 8 came out a few hours ago and I just bought a copy of it. I recommend you guys should to. It's only $40.00 if you already have a version of Windows XP, Vista or Win7 installed.

I like it better than Win7, yes its annoying not having a start button but its not terrible.

Yeah it looks like it's more for touch screen PCs or tablets.
I'll be sticking with Windows 7 for now since it's much more practical.

Just watched a couple reviews. Most people said it was bad and horrible. You have to click a tab or app to bring up your desktop. Lol

it is designed for touch-screen units primarily yes but you can switch it into desktop mode so you get a start button.
but it's all app and widget based to make it quicker :)

In reality its much faster switching between programs and such than windows 7. Also the new Microsoft store is great.

Yes it's up to the programs company to make it compatible with it .

I'm temped to buy it, I've even seen a review on Youtube showing that it handles games better to where the reviewers got something like 10+ more FPS by switching, it doesn't concern me much being that I've built a new $3k beast PC.

My only thing is, is that I have over 1tb in games, programs, etc. And I reckon some things are going to end up incompatible.
