Why haven't we gone back to the moon?

What do you think is the real reason we haven't gone back to the moon since 1972?

Im been really curious for a long time, but had never found anything about it except that people saying they didn't have enough money to fund missions.

No conspiracy. There's simply no money to actually go with. It costs way to much. Also, the atmosphere is in bad shape right now.

Better to spend our money on more important things.

It's sad really, I wish they would put a lot more funding in to space programs. Even if it isn't going to the moon... there are so many worthwhile endeavours.

You don't consider the fact that it would cost billions of dollars and that a freaking rocket would be shot towards the moon?
