Yeah it does work, I did it a while back, but you have to be very detailed about it, IG staff is pretty dumb. Elliot from IG support got back one of my @'s after someone got on the account (the go owner), and swapped it, I didn't even know the OG info and got it back. But like I said, be detailed.
