Yup I own it. I highly recommend getting it, it's a very unique and different shooter type of game.

Personally I prefer ranked online compared to regular. Ranked is very competitive like one would expect. 

Regular is just a relaxing type of play really.

Ranked goes from C- all the way to S+. The max you can get is S+99, which I have

You could make that same argument with all of the consoles to be fair.

Wii U has some of the best competitive games. Splatoon hasn't even been out for a year yet, and it already has a 1 million dollar pot prize for a tournament. Smash bros has one of the chillest competitive scenes I have ever experienced. I own all the current gen consoles, and there is "kids" just as much on the ps4/xb1. 

Don't knock it until you try it
