What to call my belief? Your therioes about life/god?

By me giving you the verse in Peter, talking about 'days to the lord are as of 1,000 years to him'. Then you giving Genesis' verses, it proves my point.

But, you really think that Earth was created in 7 legit days?

I mean, days can mean anything in the word of God, right? Or are your beliefs very fundamental?

My belief:

I don't know what happened, the end.

My parents are both Christian and believe in Jesus and God. They also want me to believe but I'm a seeing is believing type of person. There is no proof of existence of God or that there was a divine intervention anywhere in the world. I can't decide if I'm atheist or just a non-believer.

Got rid of our old quotes so we don't take up a page each .

The wording of the King James messes up the meaning a bit.
NIV/NASB(I just took these 2 since it's what I normally use): With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day.

The emphasis is on the LIKE. It's not saying a day IS a thousand years, but instead that it's LIKE a thousand years.
It's a similie. Example: He runs like a cheetah. He runs LIKE a cheetah, but isn't a cheetah.
So also it's like a thousand years but isn't a thousand years.

Sorry for not responding earlier btw, we had a block party.

Exactly 'like', I've already had at that. All I'm saying is it's not 7 days, as you portrayed it to be.

I'm not portraying it as 7 days, God is. He said He made it in 7 days, so why should we not believe Him? Don't you agree He is all powerful? Why couldn't He do something like this in that time? He could have done it in less, but He wanted to show that we work 6 days then rest on the 7th.

God is? Who wrote the book? Man wrote it.

Yea, Muhammad also believed in covering your spoons at night, to.

No.

Like, superstitions he said, another where you have to spit on your right side after waking up.

Man wrote the book but it was God's inspired word, so through man God wrote the Bible. The Lord told man what he should write. Over 2k times it says "Thus says the Lord". That's because the Lord speaks to us through it.

On the Quran, it also says that once a nation is mainly inhabited by Muslims, they should force their religion and kill any who don't believe. Husbands are allowed to beat their wives into submission etc.

Through the Holy Spirit, men wrote the Bible. But you're also forgetting that there are probably missing books. Rome was the one to put the Bible together and they were the ones who agreed/disagreed on what to put in.

God's in control of all, so I doubt He would lead us astray and not let us find all the books He thinks are neccesary to start to understand Him. God would have been with those in Rome who decided what books to put in. Kind of how in the Old Testament they would cast lots to decide, someone would put a certain amount of stones in a bag, all the stones were different, perphaps they were marked or something. They would take out a stone and whatever it was would decide what they did. God would let them choose the stone he wanted, so God would do with choosing the books of the Bible.

Guys, this wasn't meant to turn out to a big debate, you can handle it trough PMing, right?

It's kind of a fun debate, and we're sharing what our belief so I think it's on topic . I not hating on Danger Close btw, I respect him.

You're more fundamental than my grandmother.

Honestly I don't know what fundamentalist means lol. So I googled it and got fundamentalism. I skimmed it and found this as part of it:

The inspiration of the Bible by the Holy Spirit and the inerrancy of Scripture as a result of this.
The virgin birth of Christ.
The belief that Christ's death was the atonement for sin.
The bodily resurrection of Christ.
The historical reality of Christ's miracles.

If that's what you're saying of me, then yes I believe all that.

No, it's more of.."I BELIEVE EVERYTHING IN THE BIBLE WITH OR WITHOUT SCIENTIFIC FACT."

Well ya I do. What theory can use science to show how the world was made? Either 2 random particles hit and did the opposite of common physics or a God who loves you created you and is still watching over you.

I don't really believe it happened all like that.

K well tell me what you believe using science then.

Also, do you accept the Heidelberg catechism?
