Raise your dunegeoneering to 85 and then use him to kill frost dragons.
same thing happened to me on my pure, but it was with a whip and it went to level 3 defence xD
If you want to take the time to do it, get 10 defence and do the quest for the korasi
then level that bitch up to 80 dung and get a cmaul (getting 80 attack of course. if you do bandits every day for like a week you can meybe get 80 attack. if not every day and every other day, 2 weeks meybe... depends on how long you stay at bandits too

I personally like mains, but I doubt you'd want to raise it like that.
I'd try a zerker pure with a rapier.
Something like
80 Att
99 Str
45 Def (quested)
Prayer is your choice, maybe get Turm or Piety.
94 mage for venge
