What REALLY defines a user as "Trusted".

Hello ForumKorner. I've seen a lot of people calling members the "Most trusted" members onsite. I think it's all rubbish. The community defines a trusted member by Rep (Generally more than 1000 rep, and users will trust you with their life). But is rep really what we should use to define how trustworthy a member is? Any upgraded member can have an affect on another users rep. Rep to me indicates popularity, or over-repping other members to get rep back. The rep system is not broken, it is just misinterpreted. Other than Rep, Koins, Posts, awards, and Kudos are often used to measure how trust worthy a member is. None of these are even remotely related to the Marketplace, and wouldn't determine your level of legitimacy.

There is a link between Stats, and accountability. A member who likes the site won't risk a ban. A member with good stats probably likes the site.

If you don't see where i'm going with this, the stats in the right corner of a post are generally how members define a "Trusted" member. This is why people consider members like Chill the most trusted user on FK. Please understand that i'm not trying to discredit how trusted Chill, or any other member with good stats is.

So now that we've discussed why Stats aren't useful in determining a trust-worthy member, we should ask "What does define a trusted member?" First thing I look for is a vouch thread. Ignore the posts saying the user legit, that's a social ploy by the OP's friends. Look for the posts from users who made purchases. If the user a a trusted member, they should have 15+ good sales vouches, promoting good service during the transaction, and how easy the user was to deal with (Sometimes a user will make this sort of statement in a +rep, which is the exception for rep's usefulness in this issue).

I want to hear how you define a Trusted user. All opinions posted are appreciated.​

Reputation means nothing towards being trusted
Post count means nothing towards being trusted
Profile means nothing towards being trusted
What content you have means nothing towards being trusted

Peoples individual opinion is what make a person trusted + vouch threads.

Just because someone has been legit with you and scammed someone else doesn't mean they're trusted.

Take me for example, I've never scammed and I never will, I have a hefty vouch page so therefore I'd consider myself trusted. Your opinion might be different to mine. It's an individual decision made by each person.

I've seen multiple scam reports against you, so I would do my research before dealing with you. But if your telling the truth, you'd come up clean, and I wouldn't hesitate to deal. And i'm discussing the things that affect every individual persons opinion on how Trusted a User might be.

I'm one of the most trusted scammers you will meet. I only trust people I talk to though. I just look to see how cool a person is really lol. I will never deal with a prick, unless I know them.

Rep means nothing on FK. DWC members have some of the highest rep on the site. I've done thousands worth of deals, but they're typically with the same 10 or so people, so my rep won't continue to rise, and that's the same for many other GT sellers. Vouches and street rep are the only true indicators on FK of trustworthiness.

Yes. And in this thread we are discussing the attributes that would lead to a decision.

This was the idea behind my "Trusted" award. I have only given the award out to people that i have done myltiple deals with over a long time period, and I have a positive result time after time with. Rep, post count, or anything of that nature does not make a trusted member. The way a member holds him or her self is what defines them.

I trust people I've dealt with, or been a part of a deal with. I trust very, very few people. Until we've done a few deals, I don't trust anyone really. I occasionally make exceptions to people who I hear of being very legit, and just seem to be cool people: ex. Megaman.
