What is wrong with my xbox 360?

Well, I quit playing xbox for about 4 months and I decided to check in with some old online buddies and whadya know it doesn't work. It starts up fine with no rrod but it makes an extremely loud noise. I have tried to do the stupid towel trick and it all it did was make the red rings appear for a bit. Open it up. Fairly easy. I had possibly the same problem along with the rrod. Just try and take the main components out, clean up and insert them back in. Don't be lazy, fix it up and save some paper.
 
You could buy the slim, I know it's 125 dollars, maybe even less now. Then again the new xbox is coming out at the end of this year. Up to you, good luck.
 
Stop telling him to buy the slim everyone. He obviously wants answers on how to fix it. I would say that it's the disc tray as that is the only moving component in the xbox 360. What you need to do is get a security torx screwdriver that you can buy off of ebay or at you local radio shack for a cheap price. ($4 or so) Take apart the white outside casing with a flathead screwdriver. Then, use the torx to undo the metal casing underneath the white case. Then, you need to locate where the disc drive is and use a small philips scewdriver and open it up. Then, take the magnet off of the top of the case to the disc drive and trash the rest of the case. Then place a disc into the xbox tray and place the magnet ontop of the disc. The disc should spin and you can play your game. The only problem with this is that your xbox has to stay opened, but atleast you don't have to hear the horrific noise!

You're welcome dude. I'm just sick and tired of people spamming useless posts in order to get their post count up which is just pixels on a forum. So I figured I would tell you my knowledge with xbox's and actually be helpful.
 
I wasn't spamming shit, I gave him the best piece of advice I could. It's funny because you spent all that time typing that out when you could have just linked him to a tutorial vid.

That post wasn't pointed at you. I was just stating in a broad statement how it makes me mad that people spam for posts and don't even give answers that the OP asks for. The reason I didn't link him to a video is because he obviously has tried that unless he is a complete retard and didn't get any answers. Also, I type at like 55 wpm so hop off my dick. I typed that in like 2 minutes which isn't "Wasting me time" By helping a fellow member.
