It's always nice to have some DVD cases since I make films once in a while for my family. I wasn't looking to start a product line or anything but when I found this auction on eBay, I found it pretty good.
I wasn't able to buy the item since I had an eBay dispute that limited some features on my account so I had someone tell him to contact me via e-mail. He was selling 250 standard DVD cases.
He e-mailed me back and this is how far we've reached.
Seller: I have no problem holding them for you, if no one bids on them. I do not think anyone is going to, so I would not worry about it. I also do not have a problem, if you just want to agree on a price and send the money to my PayPal account, once I receive it. I have a total of 550-600 of them. To ship all of them, it will be 2 18x18x24 Boxes. If you send me you address, I can get you a shipping cost. I have no problem selling all of them, I would like to get more for them then $.99, I was hoping the bid would go higher. If you want to just go straight via PayPal, i am fine with it, I can remove the auction from eBay. I will ship once, payment has cleared PayPal. This would be up to you. Just let me know, and if you want a rough shipping cost, send me your address and I can get you that.
Solidify: Firstly, thank you for promptly replying to my inquiry. I appreciate your concern and thank you for making an exception. Also, I would like to know if the cases (since I was not able to see very well from the photo) have the transparent plastic sleeve so that I can insert custom DVD covers if need be. I would only need 250. Come to think of it, even 250 is a lot but I'll take it for the price advertized. If I ever need more, I'll ring you up. eBay says the item will cost me about 23.10 USD. I don't have a problem paying that for all 250. And I'd much rather wait until my eBay account is cleared so that I can make the purchase via eBay/PayPal for safety reasons, I hope you don't mind. We'll keep in touch. I'm in EST just in case you needed to know and I live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. If you'd like to make me a special deal on all the cases you have or even for the 250, I'd really appreciate that.
Seller: Kevin,
>>
>> No Probelm on the ebay part. I am fine with it either way. I can just set it up as a Buy-it-now auction, whenever your account gets worked out. Right now, I have a 18x18x24 Box Full of them, sitting off to the side. It has around 325 in it, do not worry about the extra 75, they are free. I needed them to fill the box off with. As for a price, I was hoping for around $10 plus S/H. If that is ok with you, let me know.

Solidify: Is 10$ the price if I take one box/325? I wouldn't mind that but the problem is the 75$ Shipping fee. That tallies up to 85$ for one box. That's a bit steep for me. Is there a way that you can arrange it so that the shipping would cost me as least possible. If I'd have to wait a month for the cases, I don't mind. I'd even buy all of the cases (600ish) off of you if you can make me a great deal. 50$ (including shipping and handling fees) or something around there and you have yourself a deal. I'd take them all off your hands without hesitation. Just make me a nice price please. Because eBay says that the shipping (by putting in my postal code) should only cost me 23.10$. Having said that, 10$ a case, that's 20$ for both cases, and the 23.10$ for shipping = 43.10$ USD. I'd be willing to give you something around there for everything. Please.
Seller: Kevin,
>>
>> Yes, $10 would be the price for the 1 box. I put 250 in it and there was still room on top, so I just filled it to the top so nothing would move around during shipping, but i did not count the extras, i would guess there are around 75ish, but I am not even using then in my thoughts on price, I was hoping to get around $10 for the 250 on the auction, since I know how much, the cases are to buy new and these are in basically new condition.

Solidify: If I take both boxes (all the cases you have) off of your hands, what's the best price you can make me, keeping in mind that you can be courteous and cover a portion of the shipping fees? I'm definitely going to buy them, I just want a decent price because shipping is going to sting a bit more than I anticipated.
Seller: Kevin,
>
> After talking it over with my wife, we are wondering if this would work out for you. We will give you all of them for free, all you would have to pay is the shipping. I can run some numbers this evening and see if I box them in a few smaller boxes if it would be cheaper. But all we really want to do is get rid of them. Let me know if works for you.

Solidify: By the way, the $75 shipping fee is for one box only? Or $75 for you to ship both boxes? Can you clear that up please. And if I wanted only one box, the one with less DVD cases, in order to pay the least for shipping, how much would it cost me? I'm sure you get the idea here that 250 is more than enough for me and I'm just looking to buy the one that will cost me less. I really don't want to spend too much on shipping since I'm a student and I don't have very much of a disposable income.
Seller: Kevin,

> After looking it over, if I could get all 600 or so cases in one box, I could get them shipped out to you for right around $100. It seems the more the one box weights, the less it cost, compared to sending out multiple boxes of less weight. If you want less cases, that would be fine, just let me know how many you want, and I will box them up and ship them to you.

> I'm sincerely sorry for having took up your time but I've decided to not go through with this purchase. Even with the kind offer of giving them for free, the shipping cost if very steep. Initially, when I saw your ad on eBay that read shipping would cost $23.10 USD for 250, I thought it was a good deal. But since you've provided me with different shipping fees, it's not very smart of me to buy this, considering I don't even know if I was use all of them. If there was a way that you could send me that bot with 250 (or 350 since you said you added more), I'd buy it for 20 USD. Hell, if you were my neighbor, I'd pay you 30 USD for all 660 cases. I appreciate your kindness but 100$ is a good deal for what you'd be giving me but I just don't need that many cases, so I'd essentially be losing money.
Seller: How many cases do you need? Give me a number and I will weight that amount for you. It is no problem for me either way. They have been sitting in our living room for about 6 months now. So we just want to be gone with them. Just let me know how many you need I will get you a weight and price and you can decide then. It is no skin off my back either way.
Solidify: I don't really need a specific amount. I just saw your ad and thought to myself 'Wow, $20 for 250 DVD cases is very good.' And I was going to buy it. I don't want to spend more than $30 on cases but I was hoping it would get me at least a couple hundred considering your auctions solicits them at $0.99 a piece.
And he hasn't replied yet.
I'm not worried about him being trustworthy. I'm just not sure if it's worth the price.
