http://www.mydomain.com/index.php?/members/

to this

http://www.mydomain.com/members

What kind of forum software are you running? Is it mybb, phpbb, vbulletin, ipb, xenforo, or what?

Most Forum software has Mod Rewrite privileges. If it was on another software I could tell you, but I haven't used IPB in forever man, sorry.
