Ok so..
I keep getting these assholes asking me for prices for my gamertag over Xbox live. I really don't want to get banned. All I reply to these randoms are "who are you" and "get out of here" since I know Xbox filters all of our messages and whatnot. I put gamertag not for sale on my bio and I block ever person who asks. Will any of those get me banned? Really don't need some randoms getting me fucked over for trying to buy something they will never have.

When I used to get these messages what I did was reply with, "My gamertag isn't for sale, Read the COC please.", then I block them. Luckily, I don't get these anymore. :p

Idk if Id put "This gamertag is not for sale" in the bio, that makes it look like you're trying a little too hard and that you actually have dealt with gamertags before, but idk lol.

I don't know. Like I said to 187, GT: Red has it in his bio, and even states if someone had a million dollars he'd sell and he's a launch team member.
 
As long as you dont reply saying like " Offer " or " 1600 MSP to buy my tag " you're good.

And if you put Gamertag not for sale in your bio your fine. MS wont ban for that.

Change your privacy settings to only friends can send you messages if you're that paranoid.

Woah wtf dude why are you asking to close threads? This is an open ended question with research still needed to be done. There are tons of things that still could be done to maybe stop from getting banned.

Lol I know FeaR. And he still doesn't know. Last time he got banned he didn't even do anything. So...
 
Im guessing your tag has to do with your name and AIM? Whenever i get those messages i just dont reply. Ive owned some pretty OG tags that got a lot of "how much for your tag" messages but id never reply to them. Nothing happened , Just dont reply and youll be fine

Actually he does state that if you have a million dollars you can buy his gamertag. so.... he kind of is saying it is for sale... for a million dollars lol
 
Don't even put anything in your bio or reply to them. When i get a message like that if we're in game i tell them to never message me that stuff again if they're randoms i just block them immediately.

And Ecstacy I don't think you have anything to worry about, just ignore the messages and block them. I get those from time to time and nothing has happened.
