UG News Team and Groups?

I noticed there is a News sub-section, but was wondering if there is a News team. If not, I would be happy to assist in making a news thread from time to time. If people would help me, that would be great The only thing I would need is some GFX, but I am not very good at that so if anybody wanted to help that would be greatly appreciated. I am getting ahead of myself as I don't know if the News team is already put together or not.

Also, what are groups? I have yet to see anywhere talking about official groups, but yet Swags has a group called Swag or something like that. Are they free, or just exclusive? What is the deal with them, and what would I get if I had one?

EDIT: A suggestion is to add a button next to, "Private Messages (Unread 0, Total 0)" would be, "Your Threads" and a "Your Posts". I think these would be great additions.
