I usually gauge people's intent when they send me a message off of the forum, like on AIM for instance. If you act like a child the entire time.. I will probably not deal with you. Or for instance; you want to beat around the bush and tell me "oh my PayPal is messed up" five minutes after agreeing to purchase something.

It strikes a bit of curiosity, and I usually debate with myself whether or not this person is trustworthy within the first 3 minutes of conversation.
