So in this tutorial I'll be showing you how to play windows media (.wma, .wmv, etc...)

First you'll need to download Flip4Mac.

Normally if you tried to open a .wmv it would say something like "Format not supported". But after you've installed this you can now play those formats that are otherwise not supported by mac.

After you've installed it you don't have to do anything else, you just double click a .wmv or something and QuickTime Player will open up and play it.

Here's a list of supported media.
Audio
  • Windows Media Audio 9
  • Windows Media Audio 9 Professional
  • Windows Media Audio 9 Lossless
  • ISO MPEG Layer 3 (MP3)
  • Microsoft G.726
  • Microsoft IMA ADPCM
  • Microsoft G.711 aLaw
  • Microsoft ADPCM

Video
  • Windows Media Video 9
  • Windows Media Video 9 Advanced (VC-1)
  • Windows Media Video 8
  • Windows Media Video 7
  • ISO MPEG-4, versions 1.0 and 1.1
  • Microsoft MPEG-4, versions 2 and 3
  • Microsoft Motion JPEG
(Info provided by http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/windows-media-player/wmcomponents)

So there you go, now you can play windows media on your mac.

Doing good with bringing this section to life

I'm going to sleep now anyway. Been going to bed way too late recently.

Yeah soon as the forum picks up then I might be a tiny bit less active. Tomorrow I'm getting reach (if they have my copy still), so I'll need to do my HW right when I get home, so I don't end up like this at 11:40 on the forums.

Anyway talk to you tomorrow.
