1. Go to http://www.minecraft.net/download and download Minecraft_Server.exe .

2. Go to your desktop and create a new folder. Then, move the Minecraft_Server.exe to the folder.

3. Run the Minecraft_Server.exe and it should generate a bunch of files. In those files, you can swap out the map file for custom maps, add people to the op list, create a whitelist, and more.

4. Now if you want to make it possible for others to join your server, you need to portforward.

5. To portforward, you have to access your router settings by typing your router's IP into your url bar. If you don't know your router IP, click Start and search for Run. Then open Run and type cmd into it. In the command prompt, type ipconfig and hit enter.

6. I'm not sure what most people's routers are like but all you have to do now is portforward both TCP/UDP then set the start and end port to 25565.

7. Now go in your server.properties file and change the port to 25565.

8. Then, start up your server by running the server.exe .

9. If you want people to join your server, the IP they would join is (your external IP):25565.

Well hope this helps you people that want to play custom maps or stuff with your friends when you're bored.

KEVIN!
