Thoughts on Destiny?

Well, you may be a little late on the purchase. I bought and played this game until I reached level 21 (after level 20 you just need to grind for armor pieces that give you light points. That is the only way to rank up past level 20). Basically you have to play the game A LOT to just level up. If you're into that; then by all means purchase the game.

Overall summary of my Destiny experience: I was addicted to it when I first got it. So much that I got tired of it. So I took a break from it right when the Halo collection got released. So I quit Destiny for a good 2 months. Came back to it, and as of now, I have reached the level cap after hardcore grinding. That's pretty much it. It's a pretty fucking fun game IF you KNOW what you're doing. Otherwise it's just another game you stopped playing after a week or two. And in April, a new DLC will release which extends the level cap. You know what that means, more grinding baby! WARNING: The game REALLY begins to be fun when you reach a certain level because it's when you are allowed to complete 6-player challenges called "raids" that give you rare gear that will help you throughout your Destiny career. I suggest you buy it and play with someone who knows what they're doing so they can show you the ropes. Hope you liked my take on this game.

This is one of the few games I've ever been addicted to. It's probably the most fun gaming experience I've had in a while. If you like challenging cooperative gaming, then you will love this game. There's just something satisfying about accomplishing some awesome feat with a group of people in a collaborative effort. I mean the raids are just great, with friends or with random people. For the past month I have been raiding only with random people from lfg sites, and man is it fun. I would highly recommend this game for anyone who enjoys the grindy-ness of MMOs and the components of team work and role playing.
