You act like they have a chose really, they don't have anything. Even if they aren't in a gang they can still be killed. Therefore it would be better to join a gang because you have more protection and it's easier to get weapons, and it's all that he knows. Don't try to act like he wanted that, no-one does, name one intelligent person that would want to watch over there back in constant fear that this is there last day on earth, and that you will leave your family all alone on earth and you can't do anything to protect time. No-one does, it's what they do to get money and they're already to deep into it to get out, and they're kinda trapped in a kill or be killed situation. Overall I'm not saying he should have done that but I mean I would too if I grew up like him.

You can get shot and killed ANYWHERE in the US. Chicago is indeed a rough city, thriving with gang-banging youth and criminals. But do you honestly believe this man would have been as big of a target as he was if he didn't have a gang-banging background? No. You said that he didn't have a choice in this matter. Would he need guns if he didn't associate with other hitters? Nope. He'd very likely be alive right now. Many great people come out of Chicago, but the media only portrays the out of control African American youth, and that's what Chicago's becoming solely known for. I'm not downing the dude for his past actions, because evidently most of his crew is successful. All I'm saying is if you're going to still be on that street shit, be prepared to die. Today he got his. RIP though.

A lot of these "gang-bangers" make more money annually than your average American by selling drugs, firearms, and sexual exploitation. Many of them can move out of the hoods they live in, but this is the lifestyle they were born into. And this is the lifestyle that will leave them lying in cold blood.

Actually the majority don't, there are studies that show that most make less than a person working at McDonald's .

Chicago is one of the most violent cities in the United States. It is a matter of survival especially since Chicago has a history of breeding some of the most violent gangs in the U.S ( Latin Kings)
Not to mention that after the Black Panthers dissolved the Black disciples which includes rappers Chief Kief, Rondo, Edai, Cdai, and LA Capone and the Black Disciples which include Lil Jay, FBG Duck, Lil Jojo, and Tooka.

I'm well aware of how dangerous the city really is. What i'm saying is that when you're a celebrity and you're STILL claiming that street shit, you're putting yourself in another level of danger. I'm sure he knew what the circumstances were, and it's unfortunate that this young man died (as well as the 1 year old that the killers ran over).
