As you may already know, Jagex has made its latest attempt to put an end to botting in their “Bot Nuke Day” update. If you are not familiar with this event I advise you read the official article on the RuneScape homepage as this thread won’t make much sense otherwise. Jagex’s publicity stunt appears to be quite successful as their non-botting users are prematurely celebrating the eradication of bots. But if there’s one thing we both know about botters, it’s our persistence and resilience. It is inevitable that we will jump back, because that’s just what we do. As long as massively multiplayer online games exist, so will players who are open-minded enough to find a way to have an edge over others.

This isn’t the first bot-busting update, nor will it be the last. For years on end we’ve had obstacles put in our path and for years on end we’ve passed these hurdles and grown smarter through the process. In fact, I view this update as a godsend. In the words of Peter Marshall, “When we long for life without difficulties, remind us that oaks grow strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure.“ With the numerous brands of bots available, it is my personal opinion that creating and managing automation software for RuneScape has been far too easy in the past. RSBuddy can turn this update into an opportunity to separate itself from the crowd and shine like the diamond it truly is.

Don’t get me wrong though. I speak for my entire Staff when I say we respect Jagex for the wildly popular game they’ve managed to create and bolster over the years. Many of us actively follow and play the new content they regularly add to an already attractive game. It would be unfair to neglect Jagex’s contribution for without them this community would be nothing. I also admire their progress as a successful business and often look to them for inspiration when it comes to how I want to further RSBuddy. Because of this, it is easy to parallel the two companies. Jagex Ltd. strives to provide an enjoyable experience through an immersive MMORPG while looking to its players for feedback to improve the game. Automaton Software Ltd., the parent company of RSBuddy, aims to intensify the RuneScape experience by keeping all the positive aspects of the game while taking out the need for members to drone through hundreds of hours of monotonous clicking to reach game objectives. At the end of the day, we’re both playing for the same team.

I understand this period may be stressful for you. You might depend on RSBuddy to juggle many other obligations, like an active social life, academics, or sports, and bot downtime is something you would rather not have to deal with right now. You may have even purchased a premium script during your stay here. I empathize with whatever your situation may be, and you can rest assured we are working around the clock to remedy the issue. I will also go out of my way to make sure to keep the community updated on the progress we are making on the road to completion. In exchange for this transparency, the only thing I ask in return from you is patience. It would be foolish to underestimate Jagex’s talent, and this is the greatest challenge they’ve thrown our way yet. Our developers have been analyzing the client and programming since the moment the update was released 12 hours ago without break. We have a solid grasp on the situation and have concluded that a prompt update can be expected. I do not wish to bore you with the technical details nor would I do the update justice, but the most relevant information is that you will be running RSBuddy by the end of the week, provided there are no more surprises. Remember, having fewer problems to deal with on the forums would speed up the process. We need your continued community involvement and best behavior during this tumultuous time period so we can fully focus our energy on the client. Your contributions will not go unnoticed.

Hopefully RSBuddy saves us soon. I just realized how annoying runescape is without it.

Can you spam any more? People are already talking about this in another thread FFS. Learn to read.

This is not spam. This is being talked about in another thread, but I quoted the blog. Now if you would be so kind, please correct yourself, or explain how this is spam in a more complex manner. Otherwise, Learn to read.

The fact that there's a thread for this topic makes it obvious you should've posted this in that thread to avoid clutter. That's spam, any questions?

He posted the exact same thing, but a link. You are going to get the same replies, therefore this is a spam thread to get points up. I know how this works Demon, I've been here a lot longer and seen plenty of members like you.

I agree with Optimus. Same thread, just link. All you want is points for the contest.

I don't care if you have been here longer than you. In fact, I don't care if you are older than more, or maybe even more intelligent then me, or even just overall flat out better than me. I do not see this as spam. If you see this is spam, then there is a LOT of spam going around this forum, mainly from users you are trying to protect like ABC. If posting something that has already been posted is spam, then cleanup duty is well overdue.

Cleaned up it is. Enjoy. If I see more of these it will probably result to warnings. Oh and that comment about ABC? I'm usually not on when he POSTS in threads not creates them.
