Tenure accounts?

How do people have 9-10 year accounts? The xbox 360 was released in mid 2005, so how do people have even 8 year accounts? I made an account when xbox first came out so that means that it should be a 7 year tenure. I understand that staff have higher tenures because they were introduced to it first, but how did other people obtain those tenure accounts if ms isn't allowed to sell their accounts? Someone please help me with this, I've been pondering about this for awhile now.

The original xbox, they recovered there accounts over from the 1st xbox to the 360 transfering the tenures over.

Well first off, no one is allowed to sell their accounts, employee or not. And also they transferred it over from the original Xbox I think.
