Tags or Kicks?

Basically, I'm stuck between buying a tag and buying some new kicks. I got a decent amount of money in my PP and want to get a pair or two of fresh kicks for school. My question to you is, Tags or Kicks? Do you think Tags are a waste of $$? Do you think Shoes are? Let me know you're opinion on it

LOL I fucking love the responses guys! I mainly did this because not EVERYBODY cares about kicks that much, just wanted to hear some opinions. PS: I'm thinking between getting some metallic red foams or some Air Max griffey 2's. Can't decide (Foams are fucking expensive!)

id go with some white / grey or all white air forces (80 dollar shoes, look sick, comfortable, and not everyone wears them and wont have the same shoes as a few others in your school / class)
