Staff Power Problems

Well I have a few things I'd like to voice my opinions on, but first of all I'd like to say that I do respect the fact that moderators help the site stay high quality and stop low quality users from doing bad things. With that being said, there's a few things that I find completely ridiculous. First of all, staff are exempt from too many things, for example reputation and character evasion. First of all, reputation. The fact that staff have the ability to + and - us but we cannot do that to them is completely unfair.
Secondly, on many occasions the fact that certain staff members are character evading sets a horrible example for those just joining Forum Korner. Overall, I think that there are many different things about the Forum Korner Staff/Member relationship that needs to be changed. Do you agree or do you disagree?

On the subject of dictatorial staff, it feels like a digital Fascism when you try to tell staff that they have gone to far on something or are treating you differently than they would somebody else because they don't like you.

I think this is a gross exaggeration. FK's staff aren't Nazis, and whilst I KNOW I'm going to be slammed for being a d-rider or whatever other term you feel fit to associate with me, I'll express my opinion. I've never had issues with any of the staff, and I speak with McLovin quite regularly, as well as Chill and Ocean when they were staff. Bend has always been easy to speak to in my book, and Philly was always polite to me. I never really spoke to Jason, but even Gr33d, with whom I've had limited interactions, has been friendly. Jimmy is always nice to me as well, I really don't see how them closing threads or otherwise doing their jobs warrants rant threads. Just my opinion. On the matter of character evading - is it even that big of a deal, honestly? If your post is less than even 50 characters, it's probably either a bump or a useless post.

That being said, how does that warrant something more than a one word reply? I was given a warning for say exactly what I wanted to say about the topic and didn't have to use more than a word. Granted, I did use transparent text as filler to get pasted the character restriction but if you don't want that used on your forum, remove it. My argument being that it is unsightly and a waste of memory to say anymore that need be on a topic.

I've never had a problem with any of the staff team and I knew almost all of them from when they we're staff either with me or after me but I know the workings of staff there are some pretty immature things that happen

That post is fair enough, but for the most part, posts with a low character count generally have no substance/use.

Off-topic: You're no "d-rider." You're just another user that can focus on and appreciate what the staff team members do rather than focusing on their mistakes. Appreciation keeps the forum team motivated. Oh, yeah, you and I must have spoken to you at some point because I had one of your awards prior to the server change and forum backup.



On-topic: I agree that you should be able to repute the forum team, although staff should not be provoking behavior to receive a negative reputation. They are here to help; however; there is something they are doing for you to want to repute them negatively. I believe any issues or "grudges" could be resolved with a few private messages. Some users should give it a try. It is recommended you do so in this help doc. No one's asking you to be friends with staff, but you may be able to at least work out your issues with them. Be neutral.

As for the 25-character limitation: I was a moderator for a few months an I was had no post count limitation restrictions, but I always chose to post more than 25 characters. Every time. It's a personal preference; not all staff members character evade. It is what it is, their character limitation is lifted for a reason. I agree to a certain extent, following the rules of the site in which you are moderating should apply despite your staff position. It's common courtesy. In the end, it's not that big of a deal, honestly.

The ignorance within this post is immense. You acknowledged the 25 character and you are also presenting the fact that you purposely character evaded. Read rule #2 of forumkorner's rules and policies. This is another useless attempt to criticize staff. You're at fault.

The other day i got warned for character evading on a thread that wasn't active for 2 days. i had 24 characters posted when I responded to a question. Isn't the character evade there to stop from spamming and bring some more HQ posts. well sometimes if you just keep talking you start to sound dumb and then it just goes LQ warns for character evading should only be given if there was multiple mistakes. I think staff should PM someone asking them to change it if there is only one post that character evades.

pretty much I'm trying to say let us know if we make a mistake before you warn us.
