Showcase/Advertisement Section

Hey, this may be a good idea.

Having a Showcase (preferably) section in which members can well, show other members their sites, designs, etc, and ask for feedback.

Advertising would be pretty much the same, but some people could take advantage of it.

The one problem is, we might just get people who sign up, make a post advertising their site and fuck off again. Do we want that?

That's the problem with the Advertising section.

The Showcase is for feedback, and if somebody wants feedback, they'll stay and see what people have to say.

You can add rules or a form in which Showcase posts would be posted. Like:

- Site Name:
- Description:
- You want (Feedback/Comments/Members/None)
(If you don't check this thread at least once a day, it will be deleted.)

If they just post something like "http://mylink.com check it out", that could be considered advertisement and be deleted.

Then again, we have a review section. They can post their site there for reviewing. Doubt we need a showcase seperate section for it, because that will encourage advertisements - 1 post wanders. What you think?

Yeah, that's what I thought the review section was at first but it's mostly for products and I believe it should stay that way.

Imagine when the site has 1k members, having products and site reviews together will be a complete mess.

That's just what I think though.

If not, the description of the reviews section should say something about site reviews too.

Yeah I completely agree. Though, at the time being we are still relatively small, though growing massively over days. When we do reach a point where we have constant activity, and no slouch moments I will seperate it and create a whole webmaster tab, since most people who sign up are interested in that subject. In that tab, the showcase/review section will be added. For the time being though, I think everyone can agree the Review section is good enough

I will add a showcase section for designs of webpages and sites and other things you wish to share.
But their will be a amount of posts you will have to reach to post a thread. This will be done tomorrow.
