Should kids be allowed to bring phones to school?

I have son and he want me to give him a cellphone,even he's still young and still going to school. Should kids be allowed to bring phones to school so he can call me if he needs something?

good day, i think teachers wouldnt allowed students to bring cellphone in the school.but in my opinion they should be allowed it because what if they have an emergency how they can contact their parents.

Yes they can but only for during a break and not in classes because it is disruptive to people and the teacher will ask to take it and wont give it back until later.

Everything has pros and cons. But look for the angle that in times of emergency he can call or text you immediately. Giving him phone can make you also at ease because you can contact him anytime you want.

for me i'm not allowed. cause she\he will get busy with the phone all day and not focusing on learning thins in school. for emergency matter i can call the school event to the principal.

As for me, I don't allow my son to bring a cellular phone in school even if he requests it. I never experienced that thing before though I know that kids nowadays are really different from before. I think that it will just distract his concentration doing school works and activities if he is in school. If he needs something, then he can tell that to his teacher and further the teacher must be responsible about it and deal with it.

Yes your right sister,kids now are different when we are kids also.they know everything now,they requesting like laptop,cellphones,ipad etc.they didn't think also how much it costs.when i was in high school i don't have any of that because of we don't have money to buy this and that.
