My Grandma: Ok? Do you need anything?
Them: You computer has been infected I will help uninstall it.
My Grandman: Let me pass you over to my Grandson....
Them: Yes Ma'am.
Me: Hello?
Them: Hello Ma'am, I am a Microsoft Technician. I will help you remove problems with your infected IP address.
Me: I'm a boy. And also, I don't think you can have a 'Infected IP address'.
Them: Okay Ma'am. Are you at your computer?
Me: Er, yes?
Them: Okay please enter (Windows Key + R)
Me: Yep, okay, at the run panel.
Them: Thank you ma'am. Please let me pass you over to my Senior Adviser.
Me: Sure.
SA: Hello Sir, are you on the run panel?
Me: Yeah...
SA: Please enter 'eventvwr'
Me: Why?
SA: Just please do this.
Me: Okay.. Done.
SA: Do you see any errors?
Me: No, none. Thanks for calling.
SA: No wait, this is because they virus is hidden. You need to buy our security software, it's only £49.95.
Me: No thanks, I've got some already.
SA: It is essential for your computer. What are you payment details? We only take credit cards.
Me: I don't think you are Microsoft *laugh*
SA: Sir, we are certified Microsoft!
Me: *Laugh* I'm running a Apple computer....
SA: I'm going to ring the police for you wasting my time.

This happened to me a couple months ago, I just went along with it and just fucked with them.
 
I get these calls every week.
They say you have a virus then try to get you to buy anti-virus software.

Such a fail scam.
 
wtf I wish I would get phone calls like this. I would have messed with them like "WTF MY COMPUTER IS FREAKING OUT AND NOW THERE IS A BLUE SCREEN YOU BROKE MY COMPUTER I DEMAND YOU PAY FOR IT!111!!!"
 
Pretty much anywhere you use a credit/debit card they have your phone number and are most likely selling it, i.e grocery stores gas stations etc.
