over a maximum of 30 hops:

  1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms www.rsbot.org/vb/ [127.0.0.1]

Trace complete.

edit title to say rsbots.net hidden tracer.

I heard about RSbot.org having a POSSIBLE tracker... BUT it IS illegal to note someones IP without them knowing so, and without you telling them you are doing it. So if JaGeX IS doing it... well... it's illegal. Or else it would have to be in their ToS but a ToS for their game shouldn't be able to extent to the outer reaches of the internet.

EDIT:

Lookie what I found in their privacy policy. AND since they technically OWN the site (rsbot.org) now, they CAN track IP's

What other information is collected and stored?
We use cookies, collect and store IP-addresses, alphanumeric IDs and other unique identifiers in order to identify specific computers that access our websites. We identify and store the versions of Java and .NET (if any) on your computer along with your browser and operating system.

We generate and store logs indicating usage of our websites such as activity in our games and public and private chat communications. This includes monitoring play patterns and anti-tamper checks which verify the correct internal operation of our software and are designed to spot abusive or inappropriate activities.

We may track your use of certain features and areas of our websites to help us improve them.

If our client software held on your computer fails, it sends an automatic error report to our server to help us fix it. This error report only includes information about the internal state of our own client software and which browser/java version it is running on. It does not include data from elsewhere on your system and so does not reveal personally identifiable information to us.

We store 'save game' and 'game settings' information to enable us to provide a better games service in which your activities and achievements are remembered in the game, and we conduct polls to find better ways of serving the needs of our users.

yeah, but how can they trace through rsbots, wouldnt that be illegal seeing as rsbots.org has nothing to do with rsbots.net?

Perhaps JaGeX has bought the domain already. Maybe they're taking a different approach than what was taken at rsbot.org. Which would be a smart move on their part.

No need to be alarmed. Remember, the 14/21/Perm 3 strike system is still in place. This just makes us all wonder. What happens next.

Yes, but still.. being banned puts a bad look on you and if you have the slightest mod think your botting you could be banned again.

I think I saw Shablo5 say this but heres my theory, JaGeX wants us to bot, I think that they bought rsbots.net, or maybe even own it, and they are providing the auth codes, and the bots, but to keep it on the down low, JaGeX is banning bots, knowing that the botters will just make a new account and buy membership. Why would they put a tracer on rsbots.net through rsbot.org/vb/? Maybe they just want a double check on the IPs?
Just a theory.

I think they're being overzealous. Most companies do that. They close their eyes and start swinging and take down anyone they hit. I.E. Rsbot.org / Kbot.net
I don't believe in the 'gaming conspiracy' that they control the bot sellers. I do however believe that they don't know what they're doing when they try to take websites down like this. They're going to lose way too many subscribers if they remove a large botsite like Impsoft or RSbots.net. Impsoft especially, because if the impsoft reflection servers go down, so do ALL the NeXuS bots all around.

Idk. I go to rsbots.net with a proxy now =P

Well if impsoft goes down they need to save a backup of the site, and make a new site like powerbot

Well, if they get attacked the same way the creators of the WoW bot GLider did, they'll be taken to court and ALL Services will be court ordered suspended. Which means while the year+ long trial is going on, all of our servers will be offline and it's court ordered that they can't be put back online until a verdict is reached.

Good to stay safe with the proxy thing, Shablo. That would be awesome if Jagex owned rsbots.net. Would be good, but cruel, marketing techniques. But it is very much realistic. For example, companies that make anti virus programs also make viruses to infect your computer. For example, "security tool" is a virus that makes you think you have a lot of other viruses and asks you to buy an anti. Screwed up.
