for example:
a highly paid banker gets demoted to a minimum wage admin and finance operator, one day when he finishes work and a blacked out BMW pulls up, rolls down the window, shows him a suitcase full of cash and asks him if he would be prepared to share some account numbers and sort codes. What do you think he would do?
yes what he did was wrong, but, in certain situations people are usually willing to be disloyal to their country or corporation, maybe some terrorists had his family captive? maybe they offered him millions?
and thus, i feel your assumption is unfair.
