Religion the main cause of war or not?

Would you say that Religion is the main cause of War raged in this world as according to some people religion is the main cause of war.
According to them bcoz of religion people are raged themselves in never ending war. They believe that Muslims always hate Christians and other religion. Communal clashes is happened in India.
According to me the main cause is not religion, its the bad way thinking of people who start war in the name of religion.

No religion is nt the cause of war as you said that some people only use the name of religion to indulge in war that is why some religions are blamed.

No religion preaches to adopt violence! every religion teaches the to spread the word of peace, harmony and brotherhood amongst the mankind! It is the fundamentalism and fanaticism which is creating the problems and leading to gruesome things like Wars! We shouldn't forget that there have been reputed Monarchs like Akbar who has treated Hindu religion at par with Muslim though he himself was illiterate! Thanks !

In some aspects it might be the faith and belief,but it's the evil mind and greediness of the human that create this war.
The big and superpower country wanting to invade the smaller ones started war not because of religion..but wanting to own that place/country.
So,it's not all about religion but human's greediness.

I agree with you partially because they might fight due to their own religions but remember religion did not ask you to have a fight or hate another religion and they never teach you like that .It is just a matter of human ego to make their religion as their competition material and they did not have the real understanding of religion and they are too fanatic about it . Some other countries get into war, because of their religion such as: Israelites to Palestine. There's also other reason why a certain country want war, cos of empowerment or to own some resources of a certain a country such as: war between Vietnam and China, because of Spratly Island.

I think It's not the religion that causes the war. It's the greediness of the people that causes it. The greed for power, for land, for things, for leadership,, and for everything that one can possess in this world. Religion is never an issue. It's the rudeness and the bad attitudes of the people that causes chaos in this world.

Religions are not bad. All religions teaches you Love, peace and to respect life. Its the people who subvert religion to according to what they want. and to achieve power they use religion and once they get power they afraid to lose it and then again they use religions to subdue other people and control them, They use religion as weapon to control people. Religion is not good or bad its the people . All religion teaches you good.

No, for me, it is not the religion that causes war. It is the people who interprets the religion who are causing wars to break out. If you will study all religions, they do not really want any conflict.

Sad to say it is. And I don't get why this should happen. I don't get why people should force others to believe what they believe. I don't get it why we can't just respect each others opinions, beliefs, faith, and differences.
