Raven's Guide on Staying Anonymous

You may be asking yourself why anonymity is so important. Don't ask questions, do it now! Remaining anonymous on the internet could save you in the long run. It prevents identity theft, being "doxed", and being "ran". I was once vulnerable to all of these things, but that changed quick when I was "ran" off the internet. I pissed people off in so many ways, it was ridiculous. I would shit talk everyone I met. I was eventually doxed and that eventually led to "swatting", which is not what I want to happen to you. It was a very situation, being yelled at and tossed around. Also, I'm not one of those Anonymous fagboys on Facebook and shit.

Virtual Private Networks

Finding the right Virtual Private Network (VPN) can be challenging in today's world. A VPN is basically a blanket over your own I.P. address if you want it to be explained short. If you would like a further explanation, read this. Although it's not really a reliable source, it's really good. I highly recommend using a Russian VPN as they don't keep logs.

Blackhat Activities

If you're looking to do blackhat activities, I do NOT recommend using ANY free VPNs as they keep logs even though they say they don't. Anyways, if you're looking for a VPN, you should use a Russian based VPN. They don't hand shit over to the government. I would have recommended Tor at the time, but that has been compromised.

Grayhat Activities

If you're looking to do any kind of grayhat activities, I recommend using a VPN called Kepard. With Kepard you can have friends click on your referral link and they get 30 free days, while you get 15. Just keep on having a friend click your referral link and you can have a VPN forever! The current countries are Netherlands, United Kingdom, Canada, USA, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, France.

Crypting Your Files

Crypting your files is a good way to not get caught by parents, friends, and others. If you have a porn stash and don't want anyone finding out, crypting would be the way to go. I highly recommend downloading TrueCrypt. Read here about what TrueCrypt has to offer.

Protecting Your Passwords

Protecting your passwords is one of the most important things on the internet. If someone has some of your passwords, they can steal your identity, take all of your shit, and blackmail you, sky's the limit when it comes to this. ALWAYS keep your passwords written down or in a notepad, if you're keylogged, people can see anything you type. That's why you use the notepad and copy and paste your passwords. If you're having trouble finding a secure password take a look here. This website will generate random passwords, then you just copy and paste them into a notepad and use it for later.

Protecting Your Personal Information

This is also one of the top 3 on things you need to protect, especially on forums! If you piss the wrong person off they will end up trying to dox you. A dox is personal information about people on the Internet, often including real name, known aliases, address, phone number, SSN, credit card number, etc. There are many forms on how you can dox people. You can do this by calling the internet service provider if they get your I.P. address, which is the most common way. Other ways include PayPal, Amazon, Email, etc. Always use fake information when signing up for something if you worry about this! Don't upload any original photos of you, because people can look for exif data. Read a little more about exif data here. Do not include any information, such as friends, schools, names of people in your town, nothing!

Virus Protection

If you're infected by another member, they can virtually do anything to you. If it comes with it, they can harm you and others in real life. If you're looking for virus protection, I HIGHLY recommend you download malwarebytes. It's extremely easy to use and it will save your ass! Another way to completely get rid of viruses is to buy a windows disk. When booting up your computer, you can reinstall windows. Remember if you do ANYTHING blackhat, you NEED to dban your computer if you think you're going to be caught. This completely removes EVERYTHING, so make sure you have that windows disk in hand. Remember that putting everything in the recycle bin doesn't delete everything, it's all still put somewhere else on your computer. But dbanning literally deletes everything. I'm going to warn you again, be sure you have your windows disk, otherwise you're fucked!

1. Saying Russian VPNs NEVER keep logs is ignorant - it's down to the preference of the VPN operator.
2. Copying passwords from a notepad is pointless if you're infected by a RAT - they can see your screen.
3. Dbanning is not flawless - it essentially rewrites the same piece of data multiple times, but forensic computer team CAN recover it. A complete hard-drive wipe and total destruction is the only way to ensure that the evidence is gone.

There is also a chance that the person is just keylogged, so who knows.
