My best friend was informed today by school that his father has had a heart attack and died.

I'm so upset and so is he so for my friends sake
R.I.P

This will be devastating for him so close in the run up to exams.: :'(

That's terrible. The best thing you can do right now is be there for your friend. Try your best to see him as often as possible. Kids who have that happen, and then aren't comforted or helped often end up with a phycological issue.
