Call of Duty PS3 Restoring Issues

So my PS3 froze the other day, so I tried to restore it. I get to a screen saying: The hard disk's file system is corrupted and will be restored. It gets to about 40% freezes and then goes back to the same screen again. It does this every time. Is there another way around it? or will i need a new console?

oh and i accidentally put this in the wrong section and for some reason I cant delete it...

well when my ps3 turns off u just dont update it. it says x to continue of o to cancel , hit circle

It doesn't come up with an option to cancel it just says the system will restart when it is finished
