It's about removing the words "under god" from the Pledge of Allegiance.

the linked worked last time it was just the site was being fixed or somthing,
and will they actualy change this becaus of all the signitures on the petition?
it seems like a very big change for a small number of the population in the country to make happen,
but in my opinion this is just more religous pettynus, are you gona make the USMC stop saying semperfi next? (no i dont know how its spelt)

The petition isn't going to get it removed by itself. The petition is just to have it put on a very long waiting list for congress to review it.

Well 3000 Americans were killed in 9/11 and the anniversary of it was the biggest event this year.

i agree with bleeps i think you would need at least 1/4 to 1/2 of the population to sign it before they actualy did anything other than put it on a waiting list

You need to find out what made them add the under god in the mind 1900s.
Because as you will know there are alot of "Praise the Lord" peoples in America and if they did a petition to keep the phrase in the pledge then im pritty sure it would be more than 11k.

Right but the phrase is already there. The petition would be invalid.

You're right. It was in 1954. I think some priest or something campaigned for it to be put in. Back then, Atheism wasn't really popular.

If you look at the constitution, it is actually UNCONSTITUTIONAL to have the phrase in there.
