Hey, guys. I know that this is a problem all of us go through, and I am going through it right now: online aliases/forum usernames (in my case it is DJ names)!!! Eventually, I begin to dislike all of my DJ/Producer names. Should I use something that's made up? Should I use one real word? Should I use my real name? I never know what to do! Before I knew about the producer ZEDD, I briefly used that as my username on some forums because EDD are my initials. After I discovered his name, that was a complete shutdown. After that, my names were: NiiTRia, Cygex, and Daklip. Those were the only production names I have ever used and I've gotten tired of all three of them. I want to try out the name "Prototype". It's a real word and it is not too long or hard to pronounce. I do know some producers just use one word as their name (Direct for example), but I think that would make my name lose its value in a sense. There are no big-time producers using a real word as their alias that I can think of off the top of my head. When I use a made up word, I usually just get bored of it after six months. I just need help thinking of a name I will keep. "Prototype" sounds cool, but there are already three producers with similar names (Protohype, The Prototypes, Protostar). My current name, Daklip, is kinda cool, but nobody pronounces it correctly. Everyone says "Dak-lip", but it's pronounced "Duh-clip". I also know that the music is the REAL thing that matters, but I haven't uploaded any of my new tracks because of this crappy name. Lol. Someone needs to help me!!!! xD
For the big names,
How did you guys get your names? I don't have a large fanbase, so it doesn't matter if I switch my name or not, really...but hey, Stan SB switched his name and he has a decent fanbase.
Help!!!
