In my opinion, just because that shit similar to rugby is called "football", doesn't mean that then everyone has to say soccer when they are referring to football.

Everytime I say football, I mean football don't need to say "soccer". And if I want to refer to "american football", I simply say "american football".
And the only place where people say soccer is in USA, in the rest of the world it is football.
