I'm going to get console of my choice either an Xbox 360 or PS3. I need help choosing. I had friends on my Xbox 360 but they all left and I want to play competitive gaming. I was fairly good on the 360, but no I have another option.

:O

Xbox all the way
You have to pay for subscription but its worth it
Better quality of gaming

I own two ps3's and Trust me Its worse then xbox Atm I got 3 xbox's and yea Better games better service And most people will say its a better controller since Every thing is in a natural position not like the ps3 controller that is small and Unnatural

Thanks for your opinion. And I heard that PS3 is introducing some sort of "PSN Pass" that is supposedly bad. :3

I was always a PS person but I've switched to xbox. Just buy a year of live and you're good.

PSN is hard as hell to navigate
You can not send voice messages on PSN
You can not start voice chat party's in PSN
PSN gamers are usually younger kids on a lot of games. (COD full of a bunch of 10 year olds, all having mics) (Xbox isn't much better on that either though. More mature gamers though, with the kids)
PSN wireless mic is small and sucks ass

Xbox dashboard is VERY easy to navigate
There are always a lot of good deals for xbox games, such as Battlefield 1943 for only 600 msp (what i got it for when it was on sale)
I like the xbox controllers.
Xbox mics are generally pretty good, excluding the cheapie regular mics. I need myself a turtle beach.
Lots of good games out there only for the xbox.

Must I go on?

Wow, biased much? For me, the Xbox is hard to navigate. The controllers are odd & out of place. Paying for online sounds like a stupid idea. :-/

Yes, that's biased too.

Basically each console is good, it depends on what you want. Me? I like not paying for online play, so the Ps3 rocks. :p

That was really my only problem, thankfully my parents pay for it :D. The controller is weird for a few days, but I'm totally used to it now.

I've tried both and I say get an xbox if you're willing to pay for live.

He asked for opinions, so that is kind of the point. Everything I have said is true about psn, but the hard to navigate part is my opinion.

Sorry if i offended you in some way, I guess.

PSN has some better qualities though, such as blue ray capability (better console for watching movies) and the capability of being able to take in game screenshots for some games and put them as your backgrounds. Backgrounds on the psn are better and more visible compared to the xbox. Also, on the PSN, there are faster loading times for your music, along with a simple navigation system for the music. Though, the xbox music navigation system is also very easy, there are some rather slow loading times sometimes.

I guess if you want better online play, go for Xbox360

If you want better single player capability / music navigation / better movie player go with PSN.

Two different systems = two different varieties of good and bad things.

Actually lol, you're right, sorry. I suppose technically we're all biased, unless we've played both for at least a week, at 1-2 hours a day. Then that's a true, well thought out opinion.

Hope I didn't offend you, I just saw that and my first thought was "it is not hard to navigate!" lol. :p

Ps3, much more exclusives.

They both have games exclusive to that only console, but I like the xbox games better, and I'm more comfortable with the xbox controller. Also more of my friends have xboxs than ps3s so I have more friends to play with :)

Well, Sony's been hacked soo many times. Do you really want to play games on their servers, or their console?

get xbox, its beastly.

I haven't played the 360 much, but I do prefer PlayStation. There are a lot of reasons, such as:
  • No cost for playing online
  • Smaller controller, better grip (my opinion)
  • Very easy to navigate (my opinion)
  • Blu-Ray

Personally, these are just some of the capabilities of the PlayStation. The 360 also has some good features, a lot of good features.

We may not have Halo, but we have a variety of games you'd enjoy, Zangrefia. Call of Duty, which I play the most is really good, competitive wise. There also are a lot of kids, but you can mute them. So yeah, my opinion = PS3.

Ah, a good old xbox vs PS3 Debate. I think you should get an xbox 360. I have one too, but I no longer play it as I'm playing a lot of Steam.

1) The xbox controller is much more natural in your hand. This means that you can play on it for much longer periods of time, and have faster reactions with it.

2) Xbox Live is a really top quality service. It has barely ever been known to go down. (Not in my 3 years of playing). You get very minimal lagg in the games.

3) PS Fanboy: "PSN is free!!@!"
Me: Every single time that Playstation sells one PS3 they lose about $100. This is because they include the expensive Blu-Ray player, and are still trying to compete with the price of the xbox, otherwise they would have no benefit whatsoever. Due to the massive loss of profits for Sony, and the recent hacking. They said they may soon be charging for PSN to make it a worthwhile business venture or they may just stop the whole Playstation branch as a whole.

4) Most MLG gamers play on Xbox.

5) XBL is a much more sociable place. It's easier to talk to each other, voice messages, XBL parties etc.

I <3 xbox, it is a great console for me, my ps3 brke like after a month and barely played it, with xbox, had it for like 1 year, then got rrod, but they replaced it for free and got a free 1 month :)
