I completely disagree. You could complete a lot of small deals to build your reputation up until you have enough to go for bigger deals. Unless you was being sarcastic, I couldn't tell.

I would love to give it a try with not being friends with anyone but being really active in the marketplace. Friends are helpful for bumping stuff and vouching for you, but I'm sure if you completed many deals people would do that anyway.
