Or, you could just state on the thread that if you attempt to join you whilst the recruitment thread is closed you will be blacklisted the next time it's open. No exceptions, if they don't read it that's their fault.

I had a public blacklist on my Archetypal thread until I realized how tacky it looked. I took it down. I have my own Notepad now of all the banned users.
