i have an ipad which i finally found and forgot the passcode. im up to date on everything and ive tried to reset it off itunes but it says error? help me

If you don't care about anything on it then you could put it in DFU mode and restore it on iTunes. That's if it isn't iOS 7.

Just google DFU mode.

I was gonna suggest doing it off Itunes, but you said you already tried this.
Try backing it up to an old save.
