My 2 month trial of supposedly the best virus protector according to a Yahoo! article, will expire tomorrow :(

Anyone know a free Virus protector that doesn't charge but yet is very useful and safe?

I suggest getting Avira which I've used for like a year now, had no problems with it and the interface is really nice along with the performance and very good detection rates too.

Norton is a virus itself, I reccomend Eset's Nod32, Kaspersky or Avast.

Malwarebytes is what I use. Dectects anything. Very few crypters are FUD against Malwarebytes.

Looks like I'm going with AVG, I had it before I got a new laptop that came with Norton.

AVG is good, but does take up a lot of resources from your computer (from what I recall).
I recommend Avast or Malwarebytes. Those are some good alternatives.
Or, of course, you could search for a cracked version of Norton.

Malware bytes is pretty good, and its free. Check it out. I use it

Norton slows your computer down by so much and is a persistance fuck. It's worse then having a virus in my opinion.

@OP, take my advice and use Avast.

Unless you have a slow computer XD, it does not slow mine down and I have 4GB ram XD

and Norton has updates every day unlike other program and it blocks almost every virus.

Good Luck with your Avast

Computer speed has nothing to do with it, I have 8gb ram on a laptop... and I still rather use the free Avast then Norton. Norton is a pesky Anti-virus and persistant. In someways it is treated as a virus when your subscription runs out. I would not reccomend it to anyone who has a brain. If you are to pay for a service why not get something better for example Eset's Nod32, or even Kaspersky

Well Avast is free, and Norton is 75$ a year so there's something with Norton that is better then the free Avast.

I Have been using Norton for years now and it never slows down

AVast also has a paid version so that statement is invalid. I'm not talking about your antivirus slowing down, I'm talking about how much resources Norton uses. It slows your computer down tremendously.

I Do agree with you on that statement it's does use a lot of resources on your pc. I use AVG and I think AVG & Norton are the best.

Free Versions

Advance System Care 6

AVG

That's all I know that's free

Why would you even run two anti-virus's at a time? That's stupid, they just conflict with each-other. I don't recommend taking advice from this guy, has no knowledge about anti-virus's although he can provide codes.

You also are conflicting your other statement where you say you've been using Norton for a long time.

Please stop trying to prove me wrong, when I know a lot more then you.. go look up ratings on antivirus's. Come back to me when you find out what rank AVG is.

Hubs, thanks for the product key man, much appreciated.

Why don't you just use PandaSecurity?

It's the best out there.

really you have a anti virus after your name XD, I got to get it
