No sleep for a week.. Can I do it?

If you want to have a stroke, enjoy. What are you going to be doing for a week straight though?

Might as well jump off a bridge because that's basically what you're doing to your body lmfao. Jokes don't do that, never do that. <3

Have fun staying up longer than 3 days, it's going to be difficult and I would not recommend it.

This is an asinine idea. Sleep deprivation is actually used to torture human beings. Why would you want to purposely self-induce torture?

Enjoy the following after the one week without sleep. That is if you make it that far.
1. Aching muscle pain
2. Mild to severe headaches
3. Increased chance of seizures
4. Loss of appetite/hydration

That's not even half of it.

In most cases, after day three you will hardly be able to think straight, you will fumble your words, and you may lose interest in things you do regularly such as eating, hydrating, and even hygiene routines.

Do not drive if you go longer than 24-48 hours without sleep. While you may be eager to put your own life in a potentially death defying predicament, don't put the lives of others in danger.

I cannot fathom how stupid this idea is.

There's no point in doing this, also the fact that this is beyond stupid, and horrible for your body.

Regardless you do what you choose, best of luck with it man! I have no tips, but keeping drinking water.

Pretty sure after 11 days you die, so I don't imagine 7 days will be much different.

So... GL...

Well the Navy Seals do brutal training for hell week and only get 4 hours of sleep that whole week so it should be possible.

@Rambo but the navy seals are much more fit for this torture then a teenager that spends his time browsing forums.

4 Hours makes a huge difference! Even sleeping for 20 minutes can make a difference on rather or not you die. Not saying his gonna die by doing this, but in a scenario like that any amount of sleep can make a difference.

But also the op doesn't do intense training where his muscles and brain need to be rested.

@Soldier I also doubt that he can do it, many others can't do it, you'd need like 100 cans of Monster or other energy drink.

Drinking energy drinks while doing this can be about the worst thing he can do! Also I doubt he can/will do this lol.

@"Rambo", you're right. But I'm just stating any type of sleep can help regardless of the situation.

This is extremely unhealthy to do, the MAX a person can stay up before dying of exhaustion is 10 days. Mind you, that's the max, you could die doing this. I highly advise you do NOT do it.

EDIT: read up on it, sleep deprivation is a major cause of death.

Unlike everyone else saying dont do it. I dare you to do it. I did it for 5 days and starting hallucinating the most weirdest shit ever. Was kinda fun, but it hurts afterwards

@Mist. what were the side effects?
What were the hallucinations like?
How old were you when you did it?

The best I've done is 3 days, but I was hallucinating on the third and decided it was time to call it quits.
Constantly drink fresh water, and a lot of it. Minor exercise such as sit ups or planks will keep your heart rate up and give you energy. And of course, food - but avoid high sugar.

It's a stupid idea, but good luck.

What did you start seeing when you were hallucinating?

@Dennis, Mist. said the same thing, I'm also interested.

Haha. You act like you it's possible to stay up for a week. You will be unconscious before then. Your brain will shut down. It's impossible to stay up for a week. Unless you constantly pump adrenaline into your system, which will just cause you to die of a heart attack. Good luck mate. I'm assuming your an average human being.

Edit: Honestly though, don't be crazy. The current record holder was heavily monitored by doctors and psychiatrists. They also had physicians to consult them. Sleep deprivation itself won't leave any long term effects on you. But, that's just from sleep deprivation. Any other substance or activity you do during this time could jeapordize your health seriously.
