Yes, Nintendo have annouced their new console. Its to be called the 'Wii U'. The definition of this name is supposedly We to You, basically meaning that its a gaming system thats right for everyone but also a perfect fit for only you.

The console isnt anything like the old console. The new wii remote is hand held, it incoroprates a huge 6.2 inch touch screen capable of displaying HD visuals comparable to those produced by the Xbox 360 and PS3.

The large touch screen is surrounded by numerous buttons and sticks.

• Two analogue sticks
• cross key directional pad
• A,B,X&Y buttons
• L & R on the top
• and Z & B Buttons on the back.

It has a rumble feature built in, accelerometers, gyroscope and an outward facing camera. Lastly the obvious speakers and a microphone.

A very clever feature Nintendo have produced is an un-interrupt kind of feature. Say if somone requires to watch the TV, example for the news or football. Then the TV image of your game is transferred directly to your 6.2 remote screen.

Althought it very much sounds like it, the Wii U isnt a portable console. Everything described above is just the remote. This remote still needs to remain in contact with the main console. But due to top end wireless technologies, it is believed that the remote can be taken anywhere around the house enabling you the play games where you want within your home.

As of yet there is no price but we have a release year, 2012. So keep your eyes open.

I can't say that what I saw at E3 will have me waiting in line to get this when it is finally released, whenever that will be, since Reggie didn't give a date and quite frankly didn't even look like they had a release date to give.

The entire showcase was lacking greatly and so did the line up for the games that will be available for the Wii U. I like the Gamepad and all of the things that you can do with it, but what good is it, if you have no games to play?
