The publisher Marvel renewed his most famous character, after his death at the hands of Green Goblin. Now part of a comic alternative to the series of Peter Parker
The new Spider-Man will be a teenage African and Latin roots, to be called Miles Morales. "He's younger than Peter Parker, from a completely different environment and has a different worldview," said Brian Michael Bendis, writer of comics.
"We knew it had to be a character to represent the diversity, both in terms of origins and experience, typical of the XXI century," said Marvel Editor Axel Alonso.
The emergence of the new Spiderman does not change the reality of Parker, who lives on the traditional comic book series started in 1962. But in the Ultimate line, launched in 2000 to revitalize the Marvel characters, the reporter is killed by his eternal enemy, the Green Goblin. The copy which was defeated Parker was published in June.
To accommodate the new generation of comics readers without having to retake the versions of decades ago, Marvel published alternative histories of superheroes, they narrate their adventures from the beginning and a current context.
The new character will be quite different senses spider Peter Parker, though, as he will have a crucial support in his Aunt May and his dream girl, Gwen Stacy.
Readers will learn about the origins of the character and how it becomes Spider-Man when it launches Ultimate Spider-Man in September.
With regard to the impact, Alonso was optimistic: "They fall in love with Miles as well as Morales fell in love with Peter Parker." As USA Today said, "if a black president, why not also a Spider-Man."
