Okay, So I bought some stuff online from this website called Kitsch-Bent and I *tried* to install it on my gameboy, but it didn't work. I removed the stuff I installed and my gameboy wont power on anymore... I emailed the guy and he pointed out that I soldered the wires to the wrong point, which shorted out my gameboy. I'm thinking of getting a new one off ebay, but i'm not sure if I should. I have like $50 PP and a used one costs around $25... Should I buy a new gameboy and attempt to install the mod again or buy a new one and don't install anything? Any Advice is greatly appreciated.

I would buy a new one and install the mod, know that I would knew what I did wrong

i have a gameboy color i would sell it for like 5$....

Are there any local used video game stores that you can consult to buy a new used one? It would be better, they could possibly let you try it so you know you're not going to get scammed.

Theres like a giant warehouse near my home that sells a bunch of vintage games and lots of Yu-Gi-OH cards, but I have been scammed by a store there, leading me to waste $50 there and having to only trade it in for in store credit. It sucked, that guy is such an asshole. He sold me a gameboy color with no sound, and a gameboy pocket that doesn't even function.

it's a frontlight mod, so you can play your gameboy in the dark and never have to go outside again.

I would have to purchase a new screen too :( its $16 on top of that $25.

I remember the gameboy days. S/O to circuit for still using one hehe

Probably be best if you just get a new one and don't install any modifications, but if you really want/need to just go to a local GameStop and buy one for like $5-$10.
