My Pets

Hey RG, as I can recall there was a thread all about pets and such. So I'll just start rambling on about my super cool pets.

I have 4 cats, two of them were strays and they still continue to try and tramp the streets. The other two I received as gifts. They are all males and they are so mixed that I don't know their breeds. Their names are Patrick, Smokey, Techno and dub-man.

I have two Turtle doves which are about 5 years old. They have no names all I do is tend to their needs and often let them fly throughout the house. They like to eat.. bird food.

Then there's the 10 gallon fish with 4 decently sized gold fish(Yes, the $0.10 ones from wal-mart) and they're about the size of medium sized blue gills, or atleast thats what I think they're called.

I have two dogs, a golden retriever and a shitzu both males. They like to bark at the mail man and the shitzu chases anything down the street with two wheels.

Let's see, I have a rabbit that I adopted off of craigslist, I don't know her age but her name is rosey. She hates to be held and will kick you if you try to grab her. She loves carrots and lettuce and even if her food bowl is half empty she'll throw a temper tantrum and knock it over just so you can fill it up.

I have two female ferrets, one all white and the other is brown/gray striped. The white one(Valkyrie) somehow manages to escape her cage and today I found her in my sock drawer. The brown one(Felix) likes to scratch at the cage door but when I open it to let him out he'll just sit there, but he loves to be held and he'll climb all over your back in every direction.

I plan on getting one or two snakes either ball pythons, boas or red tails. I don't have the funds to get them yet but I'd really be happy if I got them. I've been keeping my eye on this one particular craigslist ad which consists of two ball pythons, their 100 gallon tank, lamp, stand and feeding cage all for $150. Sadly I don't have the funds so I guess I'm going to have to pass on this one.

Anywho let's talk about your pets!

Are you running a zoo or something at your house? lol. That's a lot of pets and the idea of adopting or buying a pet of craig's list seems like it could be dangerous. I don't have pets at this point but I had goldfish and a hermit crab at one point. The hermit crab was a fail as he only came out in the dark. The fish were okay, I became extremely attached to one of those really big fish thats still kind of like a gold fish. I had him for I think like 3 years before he passed away. His fin's became infected or damaged so he couldn't float to the top of the bowl so I sat by him all day trying to keep him alive until my mother made me go to the airport with her. I returned hours later to find a dead fish and the end of my childhood.

Lol, it may seem like a zoo but trust me it doesn't smell like one. I try my best to keep the damned place clean. The only room that has a hint of smell is the room which the ferrets are in.


That sucks that you're fish died though, maybe you should give another fish a go.

I believe I was around 10 at that time so I cared a lot more about others and had more free time. At this point I wouldn't show any interest towards the fish and it would just be there; Plus I don't have the tank or equipment for it anymore.
I really do want a dog but that's something my parents are 100% against.

And may I ask, do the animals get along or play with each other?

The cats get along with everything except the fish, they can sit there and just watch them swim for hours. The ferrets are afraid of the dogs but the dogs don't even care about anything except their dog food and water. So yeah everybody is basically one big happy family ^^
