My experience with Juvenile Detention.

Well, I recently got charged with Breaking and entering, I did this on Devils night with 6 friends, some people say cops are all over on that night, they are, but I didn't get caught until Halloween night. We stole a gun out of a gun box, (I didn't touch the gun), a Xbox, Ps3, a few phones, and I think an iPod, and $31. They only caught me and one other, the one they caught they told him if he snitches one of his friends he'll be off the hook, he told them my name, of course they lied to my friend and they're booking us both, I spent the night in Juvi Halloween night, It's not fun, let me walk you through what happened.

Well I got there and I had to get fully naked in front of a man and have him search me, he gave me boxers, and a long night shirt, he then walked me to my room.

I got to my cell and it was horrible, it had a sick attached the the toilet, the toiler was steel and very disgusting, there was 3 buttons, 1 to flush, 1 for hot water, 1 for cold water, I soon discover the hot water does not work, I refused to take a shit until after my hearing to see if they were going to let me go.

5 A.M. I was woken up along with everyone else getting very loud bangs on their doors, the man gave me a small shampoo packet and said, "You have 3 minutes, when i bang on the door it means u have 1 minute left." It was burning hot water, I did what I did and went back to my room to get dressed.

I got there, there were long grey think socks, shit brown boxers, tan pants with the letters "****** Co. Juvenile Home" Down it, the stars are my city name, Co. stands for County. A tan jean shirt, A orange sweater, and a white tee. All cloths besides the socks had ******* Co. Juvenile Home written somewhere upon it. So I got dressed, they gave me the toothbrush and toothpaste and I brushed my teeth, I then when to the mess hall for breakfast, was Cheerios cereal and pears. I didn't eat. I got to school and the procedure to switch classes, they are very careful with that, you don't get shoes, you walk around in your socks ALL DAY. We bascially did nothing until it was time to switch classes at 11:00. We got out at 11 and went to another class, did nothing until Noon, we then went to eat lunch, for your first day, they pick a seat for you and you're there for every meal forever. I was at a table with 3 other boys with a full table. The food is horrid. You don't get to choose what you eat, they gave me ham and Swiss on wheat bread, Stale bread, 95% of the ham was fat, and the cheese was gross as fuck.

Then we went back to our rooms for about 30 minutes to go to the bathroom and brush our teeth, back to class, again did nothing until 2:30.

Then they called us out for store, you get 74 points a day, you can spend those points on all kinds of things, you can pay 30 points to play cards for an hour with everyone in the afternoon for that day, or a small treat, large treat, pop, a phone call, etc.

Sadly I didn't have enough points to do anything, I earned 8 from when I got there the night before, So I said there until 4:30 which was my hearing, It was over webcam (Polycom) and the judge gave me a list of rules to follow if I was going home, she let me go home that day but my court date is on Nov. 20th and I probably will get more time.

That's my experience in Juvi, don't go there.

Sucks to be you bro. Karma's a bitch honestly. Post MOTM btw :p

Yes, I am. Most the kids in there were about 15-16.

Oh, ok, it just sounded a bit intense though. For example-

That was unfortunate that you had to go to Juvenile Detention though.

It's procedure for a pat down and search of cloths.

Damn bro I just read the whole thing. That sucks :(

Hope to never go there myself

I served time in Rikers Island ( New York City ) this is to be known as one of the most hardest ( dangerous ) jails in the country.. Now that shit was rough. Anyone know where Rikers Island is.?

After hearing this, I can't imagine going to federal prison.

Lol that aint nothing bro, try going to county jail and prison, hopefully you learn your lesson and dont take the same path i did. Need advice or what not let me know i got you bro.

That sucks, the last time I got arrested it was for the same thing, but they didn't send me Juvi.

I got into a lot of shit like this when I was 11 - 14 years old, me and my older friends (16 - 18 year olds) used to do exactly what you did. We would break into houses, sometimes even go back for more days later and that's where I got caught out. I had an electronic tag for months for GBH and other shit that kids shouldn't really get into.

But I don't regret any of it.

You are14 you'll regret it later when it's on your record. You are also lucky you are so young it would of been automatic jail time I you were older.

If you're offered any sort of youth program you should definitely consider it. I got assault taken off my record and didn't even have to pay a fine just for spending 35 hours serving food at the local ballpark, working at the senior center picking up old people's trash and watching them play bingo, and other really easy shit like that. Good luck with your legal troubles.

Records are erased at age 18 unless you're tried as an adult.

Wouldn't it be on your record if you were applying for college before you turned 18 though?

I don't think colleges do criminal background checks, do they?

Well, why wouldn't they? The person applying could be some sexual predator or many other things.
