Start out with your basic C4D text. I will not be providing a tutorial on how to make this. It can be found all over youtube.

Click the top layer, or the front of your Mo-Text. You will know which is the correct layer, if the front of your text has a white outline. Like so.

From there, select Plugins, then go to Thrausi R12/R13, and then click Thrausi. Remember to have your front Mo-Text highlighted. Then change 'pieces' from 2 to 25.

Press break now, wait for completion to reach %100 and you will have layers like so.

At the top, select Objects, then Null. Select both of the cut layers, and drop them into the Null.

Press the red "x" next to the cut layers, and drag your cursor up so it turns every "x" into a green check mark.

Now, select mograph > effector > random. (at the top) Then drag the Random into the Null, with the two cut up layers. It will look a little something like this.

Select the Random and go to the bottom of your screen, where it says Strength. Change it to around %1 - %3.

Select the Parameter tab, and change the X, Y, and Z all to 30 degrees.

Now, go down to your materials and you will notice a new material has been created. Cut-Inside, or something along those lines. You can go ahead and double click it to edit it, and it will change the color of the inside of the text. I will show you how to make a simple yet effective material.

First off, choose a color. Do this by simply selecting the Color tab and changing it.

Next, enable Luminance and copy the numbers on your Color tab to your Luminance tab.

Change the brightness to about 1% - 10%, whatever appeals to you.

Right click the material in the top left of the material editor, and change it to Object- Soft Shadow.

Go ahead and add a reflection, make the brightness around 5% - 10%. Give it a Fresnel texture, and change it to 5% mix strength. Now you're done with your material.

My C4D was having problems, but if you did it correctly it will look like this, and the inside of your text will be the color of your choice.

Go ahead and render your text out and add some effects! :D
