Hey guys,

I'm starting to make a pretty simple forum software for me,
or anyone else if they want it to use.

I'm not planning on getting it big or anything,
just to learn the concept of coding etc.

If anyone has any names I could use it would be great.
Thanks.

Good Luck. The PHP & SQL will take you ages, especially since you're new to development.

Good luck with this man it will take you a long time!

Don't expect it to be easy, or not take long to make.
Also, what coding languages do you already know, and how new are you to this?

Name suggestions:
Aspect Board
or something related to your hosting name.

Good luck.

JustBB.

If you just want to learn the concept of coding (and like forums) do what I did to learn PHP/MySQL: make MyBB plugins.

Its actually not very hard. I made my own blogging software before.

I have attempted this before, and I know pretty solid php, and sql but it was hard so good luck.

Shouldn't be hard. Needs a lot of dedication. Name it as AspectBB.

The name I am liking the best is JustBB. I might stick with that.
Although, I am kind of liking ModernBB.

Pretty cool justice I might be interested hmu when done good luck

JBB sounds cool.

Maybe also SimplBB. I wish you the best on your painstaking journey.

Good luck man, i've actually coded my own PHP forum and it went quite well, I was so obsessed with it I actually coded about 3. It is simple to start off and make, but then you have to worry about security which is big. I'd say the least you have to worry about is a forum name ;) but that's just my advice man.

I also am developing a forum software using PHP/MySQL. I am focusing more on social features since that is the thing right now. The best ways I have learned to code though, as advice to anyone needing it, download software and look at the code, inspect what is what, and what code makes what do, break it intentionally and then fix it. Its pretty cool once you get the hang of it. I have made my software do some pretty neat things :)
